AGING ALONG WITH QUINCY JONES, BILL RUSSELL, AND JERRY JONES

Time goes on and we’re aging along and it’s still hurry, hurry, hurry? If you need to ask if it’s necessary, the answer is YES. But, maybe it’s just me? For better answers I watched documentaries about three men in their eighties.

DRINKING ACTIVITIES LIST FROM FIRST TO LAST

Drinking activities differ based on where you are in the world and what’s available. Wine seems like a worldwide drink, so let’s go with wine instead of craft beer, or curated cocktails. Alcohol can open doors to different cultures and different times in history. Take the Monkey Gland for example:

WHEN ALCOHOL HITS DIFFERENT(LY)

Alcohol hits everyone differently. Like any disruptive element, you need to find the boundaries. Saying “Let’s get a beer” to a pal who keeps going until you get a phone call from a thousand miles away should only happen once. They need to set their boundaries. But what about you?

FOOD PREP MARATHON: BIRTHDAY BRUNCH

My food prep marathon lasted three days. The images here come from a tasty night in LA to set the mood. I’ve had other cooking marathons, but this one combines a few of them. It began with the idea of hosting a breakfast brunch. Hmmmm ? ? ?

YOUNG OLD VS OLD OLD, THE JOY OF AGING

Young Old: Spry, active, ready to show how young. My Grandpa showed off his new knee by doing one legged step ups on a low rock wall, his knee at a right angle, then up. He invited me to give it a try. I was in my forties. It was harder for me than him. […]

BOOZE HISTORY UPDATE

Boozer history is pretty straight forward, from China, to Egypt, to now. This link comes from homewetbar.com, which sounds pro-booze. Another link showing the same history comes from drugfreeworld.com, which doesn’t sound pro-booze. We all have a history of booze and booze culture as a participant, or witness. It’s not always pretty, but there are […]

CAREGIVING REVIEW WITH HUNTER THOMPSON

A caregiving review needs an expert. I am that expert and this is my review with help from Hunter Thompson. His famous quotes are care-worthy:

OVER TALKING? WHO DRAWS THE LINE

Over talking is not an illness that needs a diagnosis and a treatment. More like a habit; for some a vocation. After all, every radio personality is an over talker by definition since we can’t see their faces. Not any more. Now everyone’s on a screen, ready or not. But I’m still a radio fan. […]

SLOVEMBER OR GATEWAY COUNSELING?

Slovember is for everyone who failed Sober October. Also for those planning a Drunk December, a Jacked Up January, and Fall Down February. If you’re a compulsive boozer, or stand-up stoner, slow down. No one his saying, “STOP YOUR STUPID SHIT.” At least not out loud. Who needs a nice long Slovember?

LIFESTYLE CHANGES TO MAKE NOW

Lifestyle changes? Either you make them or they’re made for you. This picture shows a flat bench with 225 lbs on the rack. You won’t take this off the rack if you neglected to protect your shoulders with lots of warming up. What about surgically repaired joints, like the shoulder?
