LEARNING CURVE NEVER ENDS

A learning curve shows where you start and where you finish. You learn what you don’t know, then how to apply it. From newbie to seasoned pro, eventually. We used to learn new things from the news, from newspapers to news shows to breaking news. Journalists used to spoon-feed us the most important stories.

MAKE DECISIONS IN THE PROPER ORDER

Make decisions that benefit you. Sounds easy, makes sense, like the first rule of business: Pay yourself. But there’s always more to consider, always an angle to measure, and you’ll need the right tools. What we have here are the right tools for a square deal.

BRAND LOYALTY? STAY TRUE

The best thing about brand loyalty is consistency. You know what to expect, you like what you get, and ask for more. But I have a hard time being loyal. You, too?

WARNING SIGNS TO WOMEN LOOKING FOR RED FLAGS

Warning signs for women come in all shapes and sizes from stop signs to rip tide signs to the groovy ‘What’s your sign’ guy. Some of the signs are lifestyle related, like the above picture. CURRENT DISAPPOINTMENT, I’VE GOT A FEW

My current disappointment, and it’s not much, are the cherry blossoms of downtown Portland. I’ve been on others to get down there before they drop. What says spring better than a stroll along the Willamette River under a cherry blossom canopy? If I don’t go, it’ll be another year to wait. Do I go alone […]

THIS WEEK, NEXT WEEK, WEEK TO WEEK

This week is the key to living in the now, not last week. Or next week. With a calendar of baby boomer plans stretching across the entire year, focusing on one week at a time is the best way.. Why not one day at a time? Because it’s too short, and a month is too […]
