BOOMMATES IS A THING?

‘Boommates’ is a new translation for roommates, which is kind of catchy. But is it the new kind of new, or a recycle job, after all we did grow up with the Odd Couple. The movie came out in 1968.

BOOMER ROOMERS FROM THE 70’S

Boomer roomers in the 70’s were called roommates. Everybody had one. From dorms to apartments to houses, we had company. Was it fun? Let’s see:

BOOMER CONFUSION RIPE FOR HARVEST

Boomer confusion is rampant, just ask. If it’s not one thing, it’s another, until it’s everything all of the time. One think I like to remind myself about: Golden eggs do not come from a goose.

AGREEING TO AGREE? WHEN DOES THAT EVER HAPPEN

Agreeing to agree doesn’t seem like much to the uninitiated. It gets tricky when you agree with people you’ve never thought much of; you know, disagreeable people. Tricky and stunning when the role call of those to agree with brings a cast of characters together. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like an unusual […]

BABY BOOMER ADVICE, WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?

Baby boomer advice comes in all shapes and sizes, every color of the rainbow, for better and worse. You get it without asking, without needing it, but you still get it. Ever wonder why? Here’s why: In a proper timeline, numbers go from ‘0’ to infinity. (And beyond.) Boomers haven’t aged on that timeline. Who […]

LINES CROSSED? DRAW A BETTER LINE

Lines crossed is a warning” “Don’t cross that line, bro.” But who listens to that? It’s just a line, isn’t it? This is called ‘learning from experience.’

PEDDLING FEAR FOR THE WIN

Peddling fear is as old as the first recorded sunrise. “It’s getting hot and feeling hotter,” said early man. “If it keeps getting hot I’ll need a new wardrobe,” said early woman. “These animal furs will cook us both.”
