DEDICATION, DEVOTION, WRITING A BLANK SCREEN ALIVE

BoomerPdx spam is very encouraging with kudos for dedication, devotion, and persistence. Persistence, not pestilence. For the most part I work to promote persistence in whatever field you find yourself in. You didn’t get there by accident. It may have started from an accident, or happenstance, but once you settle in, keep going.

SELF MADE BADGE OF HONOR, OR GLORY HOG

The self proclaimed ‘self made’ man stands alone all by himself. No one else gets any credit for his accomplishments because: A: His accomplishments are so meager no one knows, or, B: He’s been shunned. Which is it, because no man is a self made man.

YOU MIGHT BE A RED FLAG IF …

Whether a first date, or long term relationship, when you look at the other person and they look like a diver’s helmet, it’s time. Unless you want to take a dive with them. Then it’s a question of how deep. As  rule, you don’t want to go any deeper than you can dig out from.

THE RIGHT ONE. WHERE DO THEY HIDE?

Men and women share at least one thing in common: They all want to find The Right One. Who to be with, where to live, what kind of job? The easy answers are, the right one, the right place, and right work. The hard part is deciding the order. Start with The Right One.

EVERYDAY BLOGGER, EVERYDAY WRITER OUT LOUD

As an Everyday Blogger, with help from my sharp readers leaving comments that become blog posts, I focus on finding a better communication form than writing. But wherever it’s found, the […]

LIVING HISTORY? IT WORKS FOR ME

Living history is what you see when people put on costumes and churn butter. At least that’s what comes to mind for most people. It’s a farm, a museum, a town. History is one thing; living it another. Which one is right for you? I have the right answer:

DIFFERENCE MAKER, THE RECIPE

A difference maker is often the last to know what’s up. Who has ever been to a funeral or memorial and heard strangers talk about the deceased in terms so glowing it sounds like nobody you know. And you’ve known them most of your life. How does that happen?

NEW EXPERTS: ASK THEM ANYTHING, JUST DON’T ASK ME

New experts are different than old experts. Just ask them and they’ll tell you. But what’s the right question? “Could you tell me your qualifications?” is not the right question.
