CHRISTMAS DINNER 2024 IN REVERSE

Christmas dinner at the end looks like more work for someone. It’s not a mystery. Besides I like the whole process of getting things cleaned up for the next mess. Maybe it’s about getting older, but it’s fun setting things up.

HOME COOKING THE OLD FASHIONED WAY: BRINED TURKEY

Home cooking sounds like a memory. Who doesn’t have dreams of past food? Ma’s mashed potatoes; Grandma’s gravy. Maybe it’s time to move those memories up a notch with a brined turkey?

FINE WHINE FROM CHEKHOV’S DOG

“Why are we worn out? “Why do we, who start out so passionate, brave, noble, believing, become totally bankrupt by the age of thirty or thirty-five? “Why is it that one is extinguished by consumption, another puts a bullet in his head, a third seeks oblivion in vodka, cards, a fourth, in order to stifle […]

DOG TIME IN DOG YEARS

Dog time started right on schedule. Sixteen years with precious Daisy the Wonder Dog, followed by four years of mourning, then this. Three years ago we signed up for another round of Dog World. I think she might be a keeper.
