ONE PROGRESSIVE STEP, THE NEXT, AND REPEAT

One progressive step is all it takes.
Give it a try as long as you’re not near a cliff edge with your toes over the side.
If that’s where you are, turn around, then take that step.
We all hear the same thing when we fall?
Get Up.
It’s good advice, but then what?
Too many people overcome their problems only to fall back into the same bad habits.
First they hear, “You did it, you did it, congratulations,” then the silence of failure.
Failure in a fragile situation is not uncommon.
You also need a plan for how to progress from one successful endeavor to the next.

Take Playing Guitar For Example

Playing a guitar has too many variables.
Play like someone else plays and you’re a copy cat.
Play the way you like and you’re unintelligible.
Play a recognizable song and you’re not creative.
I say as long as you pick one up and make some noise you’re doing just fine.

First, there’s the choice of guitar, then the choice of music, and the choice of notes.
Lot’s of notes.
The key is learning the ‘right notes.’
After that you’re ready to go, ready to buy a van and hit the road.

Taking A Progressive Step

Too often the circumstances around that first step in the right direction is fraught with danger.
Better to turn around, run away, or just ignore everything and do nothing.
If that’s you, you’re in good company.
Every step doesn’t have to be a progressive step.
Let that sink in while you listen to someone tell all about their journey, the one you know they haven’t started.
But, they expect a response, maybe a cheer, an attaboy.
Who doesn’t like accolades? And who are you to judge whether they deserve them or not?

There’s a plan of action, a gathering of resources, and finally the execution.
Ready. Aim. Fire.
That’s how it works, that’s the sequence. Skip a step and what happens?
You might shoot yourself in the foot.
No one  wants that. They’d rather hear you sing your song.

PS: Do yourself proud and be willing to do things you don’t ordinarily do, like participate in someone’s life.
PSS: If you have a family, start with them. They might be surprised, but they’ll get over it.
