COMMUNICATION SKILLS: MEN TRYING TO HEAR WOMEN

communication skills

Communication skills are complicated to say the least.

If I had one wish, I’d wish men listened to women better than they do.

Though you can never know how you’re interpreted, why not try harder?

What do women want? Let’s start there:

It’s fair to say women want what men want, all things being created equally.

What, did you expect some overheated bullshit about being an authority on what women want?

Good. I am.

Women want what men want. Too simple? I don’t think so. That’s my authority.

“But women aren’t strong like men.”

So don’t be afraid of helping them get stronger.

Show me a man dedicated to keeping women ‘in their place’ and all you’re showing is the same a-hole who wants things right where they want them, not just women.

Eventually they’ll want you ‘in your place.’ Then what?

By helping women, good men will have their support in tough times.

Help women and they’ll help back? That’s all I’m saying.

You see, women are problem solvers. Always have been.

Problems Women Solve Without A Thought

Lady Senators Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins and Joe Manchin all went against women’s best interests across America.

Lisa and Susan betrayed their sisters in the struggle for abortion rights to stand with the likes of Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul. Way to go Kentucky.

They stand with Josh Hawley and Ron Johnson and Lindsey Graham. Nice group with special communication skills reaching out to the people who elected them. It’s time to wake up, Missouri.

Is that an alarm in Wisconsin? Do better, South Carolina.

Joe Manchin is a tougher nut to crack than anti-women men and women. Mr. Slick Operator is collecting I.O.U.s for the future. This is another instance Presidential candidate Manchin can point to for right wing swing votes.

Hey Joe, where you going with that anti-abortion vote in your hand?

To the White House?

He’s a problem West Virginia women voters can solve without a thought and send him back to the coal mine he crawled out of.

Male Fear Of Communication Skills

Why is it so hard for men to hear women? Any thoughts?

Save the preoccupation with dick measuring. Senators Murkowski and Collins and Manchin have canceled that notion. And Manchin lost.

The real fear comes from doubt. Yes, doubt.

Some men doubt their momma’s love because they grew up and can’t love. For some it’s a business decision.

Some of the fellas got mentored by jackasses, successful jackasses who showed how far you can go in a blue business suit, white shirt, and a long red tie.

You Could Go, All. The. Way

If men used the same communication skills as women we’d live in a more compassionate world, a world less stratified, with a shorter space between the Haves and Have-Nots.

Before you break out the bleeding heart liberal brush, these are the Haves:

Cleaner water, cleaner air, more secure food sources, adequate shelter and clothing.

The Have-Nots lack the same and the gap is growing.

The big strong men can’t figure out a way to build a bridge with that big male brain and the big male back? What’s the problem, boys?

Women solve complicated problems with more ease, which is an asset, not a threat.

When men get in their way, guess what happens? Women apply their problem solving skills to them.

If that idea doesn’t frighten you and fill you with hope at the same time, then you’re not paying attention.

If it sounds like a more exciting future to you, it’s possible if you vote.

  1. No man has ever entered the moral quagmire of needing an abortion, yet men are able and willing to tell women how they’d like them to behave.

    And that’s the problem.

In regard to violating federal law openly and indisputably, there’s on old saying in the law making business: A weak response to illegal behavior weakens the laws against other behavior. Once the law is weakened, at the presidential level for example, underlings see opportunity to hop on board.

What else is there to explain ignoring subpoena and requests for information.

Law and order works both ways. That’s why justice is blind. Screw up and pay the price, no matter who you are.
However opinions may fall, a panicked pregnant teen is not the ideal model of a responsible person. Their parents, who are responsible and aware of low or no cost contraceptives and morning-after pills, go in the tank and seek any alternative for their daughter.

Like a legal and safe abortion for their daughter. Will they consult with their congressman first? Their clergymen? Or their doctor?

I’m a married guy with two adult kids and one grandchild, people I feel pretty good about. What I don’t feel so good about is observations like “There were fine people on both sides” during a white supremacy march. That doesn’t wash anywhere.

Men who focus their attention on abortion issues are not doing women any favors. Elected officials who focus on abortion issues are not doing their constituents any favors. What they are doing is campaigning on a hot button issue which the new Supreme Court justices have acknowledged as ‘settled law.’

  2. Settled law is settled until it isn’t.

I categorically disagree with the viewpoint that a person cannot have a valid opinion about something just because they’re not standing in the affected person’s shoes. That leads to logical absurdities. We have laws and cultural norms that bolster a civil society. We have a standing military, police forces, medical policies, and all kinds of other things that may arguably require a college degree or years of experience to “properly understand”, yet we – as a society – make rulings on those issues all the time.

You are correct that abortion is just one hot-button issue, and perhaps some attention is warranted there to defend those that absolutely have no means to defend themselves or communicate on their own behalf. The rights of a growing human *must* be balanced against the rights/needs of a mother, teenager or not, in a proper & civil society. I agree the choice must be her’s – up until a certain point. She must exercise good judgment and responsibility, and not cause an unnecessary murder.

As for the “fine people on both sides” point that has been thoroughly taken incorrectly, let’s not go there. I can quote Joe Biden’s numerous examples of segregationist & openly racist beliefs for quite a while. Much of what so-called progressives are saying today to bolster and support the terrorist behaviors of antifa/blm are far more dangerous and destabilizing to society.

    • Whataboutism and pulling quotes is not an answer or a building block to any argument or discussion.

Words have meaning, then meaning changes, then what?

  3. Yes, we all have set the bar. Mine is outlined in every post on this blog.

To mention resources is to ignore the failure of Trickle Down Economics that never quite trickles.
