GIVING THANKS TO CAREFUL READERS

Giving thanks for anything is a good idea. It only gets funky when you try to work it into something else, like the opposite of thanks. Would that be irony? But a sweet thank-you is not the same as a hearty F-you. All cleared up?

DAMAGED MEN DON’T ASK FOR BAND-AIDS?

Damaged men are all around, but you’d never know it. Why? Not because they tell you, because they don’t. In a show and tell world, they do the show part better than the tell part.

GOOD TWITTER, BAD X?

Good twitter was a great scroll. Celebrities and famous names shared their interests, causes, and struggles. They made themselves look almost normal, which was nice. Not so nice?

MODERN ELDERS SEEK AUDIENCE WITH YOUTHS

Modern elders want to be heard by someone. They have much to impart to the rising generations, but there’s a problem. Can the ‘Me Generation’ ever get over itself enough to make sense? Will young people ever trust those who said never trust anyone over thirty?

COMPARISON CULTURE: BETTER THAN WHAT?

Comparison culture didn’t start with social media, but that’s where it found fertile ground. Baby Boomers and every generation before, all had the same comparison: My Dad is better than your dad. What comes after that? Maybe a fight.

LETTING IT FLY? WHERE ARE THE WINGS

‘Letting it fly’ is another way of saying, ‘Is that all you’ve got?’ One of my goals in life is not backing down to fear. Am I afraid of a famous tea room? Yes, but I let it fly. How did I get over this unreasonable fear? I had help.

BONA FIDE BLOGGER WITH VERIFIABLE TRUE STORY

The idea of a bona fide blogger doesn’t come from O Brother Where Art Thou. They say bona fide, just not blogger. Lately I’ve been working with the words verify and verifiable in terms of truth and bona fide fits right in. So does the word trust. You know the word trust?
