MONDAY MORNING STARTER: COMPLAINING?

Monday morning, like every morning of the week, starts with a quick look online to see what’s up in there, to see if anything sticks past the first scroll. What stuck? Complaining. My online peeps are disappointed in their engagement numbers. No one reads their posts. And it hurts soooo bad.

GOOD BOSS, BAD BOSS

A good boss isn’t born that way. They learn the ropes after working for a boss who shows them the right way. And the wrong way. Then they choose one or the other. What’s the difference?

MAKING TIME LAST WITH OVER DAVE

Making time for someone is one of the nicest things you can do. You hear about it from people who say they’d like more time with one particular person. Except that person is usually dead. Then what? Plan B.

HEALTH BLOG, CANCER VERSION

My youngest niece is starting a health blog. During her cancer treatment she posted updates and concerns for others to heed. She was inspiring, an inspiration for others to take care of themselves. HOT WRITER IN A HOT AIRPORT BOOKSTORE: COLLEEN HOOVER

The hot writer is who I pay attention to. I may not read their work, but I notice their books. Colleen Hoover was hard to miss in the airport bookstore. How hard?

SPORTS BOOK REVIEW: GRACIE GOES GOLFING

This sports book review comes via an author’s reading at Annie Bloom’s Books. Last night author Arran Gimba packed the house. From his daughters and their friends, along with their parents, they were a dream audience. What is it about an author reading that gets people out of the house? Let’s start with the joy […]

ATTENTION ECONOMY SPENDING CAP

Google’s response to ‘Attention Economy’ is “About 569,000,000 results (0.47 seconds).” I didn’t read them all, but the first few referred to the ‘so-called’ attention economy. ‘So-called’ because no one wants to be shamed for thinking there’s such a thing as an attention economy? Look at that top picture. What’s it say? More than you want […]

BLOGGER RULES: COMPLAIN, A LOT

Blogger rules depend on the personality of the writer, but complaining endlessly is a common thread. I’m not a complainer, so it’s more difficult. Where is the starting line?
