VOTERS’ PAMPHLET OR VISION OF THE FUTURE

What do you do when the voters’ pamphlet arrives in the mail?
Ignore it because you already know who to vote for?
Open it up to see who in the world would put themselves up for election?
Or read it in search for better candidates for better representation at the local and national level?
If you wonder ‘what’s the big deal with voting’ all you need to do is listen to the voices who say the same thing.
Have you ever heard a candidate say, “If this goes according to plan you’ll never have to vote again.”

Christians are not known as a big voting group, they don’t vote. And I’m explaining that to them. You never vote. This time, vote. I’ll straighten out the country, you won’t have to vote any more, I won’t need your vote any more, you can go back to not voting.”

So many times in my work I read things like this and feel there’s a hidden message to an unknown audience.
The message sounds too stupid to believe, and it’s presented in an ignorant tone in case the stupid part isn’t clear enough.
I’m not calling anything stupid or ignorant, just observing because I don’t get the hidden part and I’m not the audience.
Who is?

Straighten Out The Country With A Voters’ Pamphlet

I like the idea of growing up and doing what I want to do, making decisions based on the best choices available, and passing that benefit of American citizenship down to the trailing generation.
Who wants their kids to grow up doing what they want to do and making decisions based on the best choices available?
I’ll take a long shot here with, “Everyone.”

Now check your voters’ pamphlet for evidence of people echoing that message, the message of doing what you think needs doing and making decisions based on the best choices available.
Vote for the people who match your vision of what the best choices available are.
If you don’t understand the office up for election, what the job is and who has the best qualifications, vote for the party you trust most, republicans, democrats, or one of the minor parties listed in the Oregon Blue Book.

Vote For Someone Special

Vote for the people who will do their best to secure the benefits of American citizenship as outlined in the rulebook, otherwise known as the operator’s manual, or the constitution.
Look for the people who want to allow women the full benefit of their American citizenship.
This is usually a candidate who studies the process of making a law to enable the changes you want made.
From Google AI:

Laws in the U.S. begin as ideas, become bills sponsored by members of Congress, and undergo committee review, debate, and majority votes in both the House and Senate.
Identical versions must pass both chambers before going to the President, who signs the bill into law or vetoes it, which Congress can override.

Vote for candidates who bring new ideas to the table, new solutions to old problems, who are willing to participate in the process of review and debate and voting bills into law.

For all the talk about voting doesn’t matter, especially your vote, remember that there are people voting, there are people counting those votes, and they show up on TV.
Your vote is one of millions and millions of ballots. It’s easy to feel insignificant. Use your vote so you can look your loved ones in the eye and say you did your best for them.

PS:

Look for candidates with the right expression in the voters’ pamphlet.
Imagine what they’d say to their constituents.

PSS:

“Yes, I understand, but explain it to me one more time like you’re talking to a dog.”
If a candidate for office talks to you like you are a dog before you ask, they may not be the one.
And now, after finishing up here, I will open my ballot envelope and vote with help from my wife’s cheat sheet.
What’s that look? Oh, like you’ve never done the same thing?

With kids of their own their future is right now.
Vote for a better one.
