FLOWER CHILDREN? HECK YEAH FOR A HAPPY DAY

Heads up to all flower children: Swan Island Dahlias in Canby, Oregon are still in bloom.
If you missed the cherry blossoms, the roses in the Rose Garden in Washington Park, the iris bloom, sunflowers, and any others, this is your place.
It’s well groomed, thought out, and accessible.
No matter your age or disability, time spent here will make a happy day.
Here’s why:
You’ll get a touch of local history.

You’ll get as close to full color as you’ll see anywhere.

The walkway from the road to the main house feels majestic.

An all-ages crowd flows through the flowers on packed paths that are wheelchair tested.

The aching beauty of the dahlias run from bud to blossom to full sized flowers the size of a small head, or regular dinner plate.

The bees love this place.

PS:

Are you feeling it?

PSS:

A happy day is a short drive from Portland.
Leave your troubles and your woes for a while and walk among the giants.
Afterwards you can return to the snip and snipe of normal life, but for an hour or two let the dahlias transport your mood to a better place.
If that’s not good enough, stop on the way back and pet a goat.

Flower children, or goat whisperer, you’ll find both outside Portland, Oregon.
That’s a baby boomer blogger fresh air promise from BoomerPdx.
