TIME WAS ON YOUR SIDE? WHAT HAPPENED

Time is on your side until that thing happens and the clock speeds up.
What thing?
You look in the mirror and see something different.
People stop saying, “Why, you don’t look your age.”
Or, you can’t do what used be easy.
But there’s more:
We had a big meeting, a gathering, call it a reunion of family and friends from three to eighty-seven and you’re not the youngest, not the oldest, but there’s something else.
Even the young people are older.
And they have kids. And you’re one of the grands.
Go ahead and deny, defy, and run from time that used to be on your side.
Plenty of time for everything.

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

Don’t Ignore Time

To everything, turn, turn, turn
There is a season, turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it’s not too late

When it’s time for peace, it’s time to learn how to protect your peace. (Hey nieces )
It’s the season to pull your people together, but you don’t have any people?
Yes, you do.
If you’ve convinced yourself that you’re all alone and no one has ever been so alone?
Plato says don’t be stupid.
Find a tribe with the right vibe and join in.
We had it going yesterday surrounded by another tribe: beach volleyball players.
The place we reserved was in between four volleyball courts and a temporary kitchen.
They played, ate, and played and ate.
Not kids mingling around, but adults with serious game going all out, diving, digging, and doing it again.
Our group was mingling and eating and watching the five and under kids chase around.
For all there I’m grading it an A+. And that’s on the curve.

The Day After

PS:

Getting caught up with people in your life keeps them in your life.
If yesterday’s G-Gathering was a small town I’d move there tomorrow.

PSS:

Good people with good times is the best way to enjoy the short trip.
