NOBODY PLANS FOR NO ONE GOING NOWHERE

The Beatles have a theme song for nobody plans. It’s called Nowhere Man. This persistent cultural detective heard it when it first came out. I was eleven and it went right past me. Now?

MARATHON MINDSET OFF THE TRACK

I hear marathon mindset and the number 332 pops up. Three hours and thirty-two minutes, the longest 3:32 I can remember. Soooo long it felt never ending, but it all worked out after twenty-six miles. If things don’t work out, then it’s not the end, which is often a problem.

CARE MORE THAN WHAT?

“Care more about what you can change,” is the mantra I like. There’s something on your shoe? Clean it off. Your house plant is drooping? Water it. The basics are still basics.

AWARD WINNING TAKES PRACTICE

If you’ve never had an award winning experience, keep reading. After all of the training and expectations and worry you somehow win. What happens next? Disbelief. How did it happens? You know but still don’t believe it. Then it’s on to the next thing, the next big deal, but the feeling remains:

MAKE DECISIONS IN THE PROPER ORDER

Make decisions that benefit you. Sounds easy, makes sense, like the first rule of business: Pay yourself. But there’s always more to consider, always an angle to measure, and you’ll need the right tools. What we have here are the right tools for a square deal.

GENERATIONAL AMBITIONS TO SOLVE PROBLEMS

What generational ambitions do you remember? Our parents wanted us to have a better life than them? Our kids want a better life for their kids? But what about you, Boomer?

BOOMMATES IS A THING?

‘Boommates’ is a new translation for roommates, which is kind of catchy. But is it the new kind of new, or a recycle job, after all we did grow up with the Odd Couple. The movie came out in 1968.
