THE PROPER PERSPECTIVE TO WRITING AN EVERYDAY BLOG

An everyday blog is just what it sounds like:
Every. Day.
Like most things worth pursuing, it takes tenacity and creativity to make something worth writing into something worth reading.

BEER BELLY, BEER GUT, THEN WHAT

I’m working on a beer belly reduction plan, which means what?
Drink less beer, what else?
I was lamenting my loss after meeting a new guy who fixed broken guitar amps in his garage.
Me: I think the signs are lining up to loose my gut.

BEING USEFUL LIKE ROBERT FULGHUM

This isn’t Robert Fulghum, it’s me being useful in my Robert Fulghum beard which has gone the way of every beard that dared show itself on my face.
He is probably a better beard steward than me. My enthusiasm for grooming an extra pet in the house lasts about six months.
The last dog lived sixteen years; the current dog is going on five.
Am I being useful for them? More than I am to a beard.

A SECOND LOOK AT “THAT AIN’T RIGHT”

What’s a second look at this garage arrangement tell you?
What’s missing: a fitness area with a treadmill, squat rack, work bench, maybe a couple of cars stacked on a lift, and a designated music area with guitars, drums, and amps all ready to go.
Not to say this garage is lacking anything, but it looks more like a storage unit than a daily use area to build on, play in, and break a sweat.
This is a great set-up for people ready to move. Loading time in three, two, one . . .

HISTORICAL FATHER’S DAYS 2026

Historical Father’s Days in the olde country where I watched my children roam like Vikings conquering a new land.
Corfe Castle fell to my marauders.
The locals didn’t like our style of exploration.
The walkway through the ruins led to more investigation off the path.
“How would you like it if we went to your country and climbed on the Jefferson monument?”
“If it was in ruins like this it sounds fun.”

A Gift For The Baby Boomer Smoker: Gut Punch Therapy

And It’s Not A Carton Of Marlboro Red Even a smoker smells it. They may stink up a car with their smoky clothes and breath, but they’ll know if another smoker has been there. Will they complain about the bad effects of second hand smoke? Of course. Smokers come in all shapes and sizes and […]

Humanities: Way Of Life Or Waste Of Time?

What comes to mind when you hear the word Humanities, when a friend says they’re going to college to study Humanities?   Ask around and get back to me. I did it and came up with a few examples.   1-What are humanities?   2-Aren’t those the hippopotamus cousins that live in the Florida […]

A MILLENNIAL EAGLE IN THE SKY

Score For Boomer Music…Again. Wednesday night the Eagles played the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon. Rock Royalty came to town to play the hits from a long career, but they are a different breed than most royals. First off, they’re not English, so they could care less about royalty. The Rolling […]

Which generation has the best broken hearts? Baby boomer heart breaks lead the pack. Remember the first time your boomer heart broke? Something went wrong. Someone said the wrong thing. Was it a mistake, a misunderstanding? Don’t get the shovel and start digging it out. Don’t check your high school year book. If you cut […]

BOOMER TRAVEL: GO IT ALONE?

The Benefits Of Single Boomer Travel Are Many, Even If You’re Married? Good reasons to travel as a couple include shared experience above all. There’s a bond that occurs between a husband and wife traveling together. Pictures and video don’t tell the story. Neither does a diary or a narrative recounting. The glee and spirit […]

SHUT UP AND EAT: SOUTH PHILLY VIA SE PORTLAND

Geno’s or Pat’s? Or Shut Up And Eat? This cheesesteak. Or that cheesesteak. My readers know the value of cheesesteak. If I hear about a place from a reliable source, I’m there. Same for an unreliable source.

PORTLAND SUCKS? TELL US MORE ABOUT THOSE FEELINGS

Say Portland sucks and you might be right, but why ruin it for the rest of us.   If Portland sucks for you, that may be just the tip of your iceberg. Blame the city for what? Your attitude, your entitlement, your butt-hurt life? Why not? You don’t know what you want and it bugs […]
