NEVER HURTS TO ASK: VOTE BETTER

Baby boomers got a lot from this.
What you can do for your country is vote better.
Or just vote.
A high turnout of voters is a good sign for national cohesion.
Think of it as the drunk driving test at your DUI stop.
And you haven’t been drinking. ‘Come at me, copper.’ Lol
You can do it.

Millennials Will Get A Lot From This

The rising generations will get a lot from this.

Is asking you to vote better too much?

Since this is our system of rules and regulations, our laws and order, our system of crime and punishment, it is not asking too much for you to vote.
Why the big ask?
Vote better for us, together. Vote for people who share what we all share, who share what’s connected us all.
We don’t need elected officials delivering the latest interpretation of reality handed down from an all-night binge posting.
The people want better? We get better when we vote better.
I write an online deal here with boomerpdx. I’m an online guy and read, then read some more.
(My current book is All The King’s Men. You should read it, too. It’s over at Powells.)
The current level of online writing I see on twitter and Facebook make social media look barren.
Do I expect the insights and humor of a Robert Penn Warren? Nooooo.
Neither do I expect the views and counter-views of idiots, fools, and morons. I cover that all on my own.

Voting Is Asking What Your Country Can Do For You

What do you want your country to do for you? For me?
Live up to the responsibilities declared in the Declaration of Independence.
That Declaration.
Live up to the responsibilities outlined in the constitution.
That Constitution.
Live up to the responsibilities in the Bill of Rights.
You know the one.
Instead of a blogger with blue blood credentials to impress readers looking for professional and academic veracity, I depend on my flawless timing and delivery.
My professional focus was working as a history museum minion during tumultuous times.
My academic background is a history degree supporting my professional focus.
As an Army veteran raised in home with a former Marine father and DMV manager mother, I’d be remiss if I failed to gently remind readers how to convince someone, anyone, to vote today.

“If fuckers like you voted as often as you find shit to bitch about we’d have elections every goddamned day. And now you can’t find the time to fucking vote, to read a candidate’s qualifications in a voter guide, to see a lawn sign or TV ad.
“People put off things, then wonder why nothing gets done, nothing changes. Why not change your fucking attitude for the time it takes to make an educated guess on who to vote better for, to drop your ballot in a box, then go back to whatever nihilistic bullshit you and your little friends have been feeding on.
“If any life matters, put yours at the top of the list and vote better. Find the candidate who says they give two shits about what you give a shit about.
“That’s your guy, that’s your gal. Vote better when you have a chance.”

PS:

Thank you for voting.

PSS:

Did you vote better? Of course you did. Good job.
