BLUE HAWAII ON THE LAST DAY

BLUE HAWAII

Blue Hawaii is a condition everyone has on their last day, or they’re doing it wrong.

It’s the last time you wake up and get ready to hop in the water to say goodbye to the fish and turtles.

But maybe you’re packed and don’t want wet stuff in your suitcase?

As long as you’ve still got a mask, snorkel, and fins, get in there.

But you need to think about it?

Start thinking.

Warm water. Warm sun. Warm sand.

Still thinking?

Still Thinking?

BLUE HAWAII

This is a picture from home the day before.

Then you show up and unpack and create a Hawaiian beach from shaking sand out of your shorts.

BLUE HAWAII

One or the other?

Blue Hawaii says a warm beach is a better memory on the last day than thinking about flying home, getting in at 1 am.

Still thinking about it?

Thoughtful Hydration

BLUE HAWAII

If you’re anything like other tourists on moving day, you have some leftovers.

Left over booze? You know what to do, Mix Master.

First make a Hawaiian concoction. It won’t matter what you put in it. Why? It’s Hawaii.

Cool, fizzy, and there are those bags of gear waiting.

Fins, mask, snorkel. Go.

The Last Blue Hawaii Beach

BLUE HAWAII

Pay attention to tides and current conditions for best results, like not drowning.

The beach signs tell you everything you need to know.

I hopped in the ocean with my buddy system dive partner Dylan.

We swam hard, felt the current, swam out, got pounded by surf, tried to catch a wave.

It felt like a workout, the best kind of workout where you’re strong enough to overcome conditions.

That’s the kind of strength you bring with you, so be sure and schedule workouts a few months before Hawaii.

Why fight the ocean one last time?

Those memories eventually get smaller as other wonders occur.

So get in, swim with the fishies, wave at the passing turtle, and then you’re ready to go.

All set?

Going through the checklist.

Last look in the fridge?

Vacation blogger takes the measure of one last cool, fizzy, Hawaiian special.

Call it a Blue Hawaii.

Now I’m ready.
