AMERICAN VOTER, THE REAL CAMPAIGN WINNER

A challenge for the American Voter?

Who said the biggest part of a job is showing up?

American voter knows their job, know where to go.

Will they show up in the sort of numbers that reinforce participatory democracy?

That’s the idea on the ballot, other wise, why bother?

The ballot American voter drops on an election is the final act of the campaign, then the real work begins for the winner.

Keep in mind, if you vote, and you’re an American, you’re already a winner.

What does it mean to be that kind of winner?

Every union worker knows about seniority.

If someone with more time in gets bumped from their job, they might bump someone with less seniority from their job.

No hard feelings, that’s how it works. Then the bumped guy finds someone to bump.

Eventually the union bumping settles and everyone gets back to work. Except the last guy bumped to the sidewalk.

They’re not happy, but they understand the process. Paying union dues means agreeing with the outcome. It doesn’t mean they have to like it.

American voter gets this. Vote, collect results, declare the winner.

The loser gives his last speech, tells his supporters to work harder next time, and plans the next day of the rest of their life.

The vote is the difference maker.

American voter is the difference maker.

After all the debates, rallies, and pressure, one of the candidates gets to go home while the other has to move into the White House.

Luckily, the Oval Office has two paintings by Edward Hopper hanging on the wall, so that’s a comfort.

What will American Voter change?

If Hillary Clinton wins the race for the Presidency, we’ll see a step forward for people who put the time in to learn their jobs.

A Hillary Clinton win sheds light on accomplished people working offstage, out of the spotlight, people who ordinarily do their jobs so others can do theirs.

Who doesn’t know someone, or heard their story, who’s been passed over, back-officed, ignored, but still bring their A-Game to work?

The professionals who bump up their skills, furthers their education, make the sort of personal sacrifices to improve their promotion chances, see hope.

Communities in turmoil need a calming influence, a leader who comes across with ideas they can use.

You’ve seen the refrigerator magnet that says, “If momma ain’t happy, nobody’s happy?”

Women who step forward to address and right the wrongs of their communities have a new voice.

Moms, Grandmas, wives, sisters, all have someone they can point to, someone to close discussions with.

“Hillary says,” will become the new Go To starter phrase.

1. An executive hiring manager considers a twenty eight year old woman with a few years experience and a forty year old man looking for the next stepping stone of his career.

2. A landlord reviews two rental applications, one from a young mother and one from a man the same age. A reference call shows the woman paid her rent on time where she lived before, and the man has skipped payments on his last three apartments.

3. A group of friends meet new people before a dance night out. One is someone’s new girlfriend, the other is a new boyfriend.

The guy is quiet and respectful around his date’s friends, and not a bad dancer, just not a good one.

The woman dances with all the guys, grinding through every song the DJ spins.

Hillary says a company building a stable work force needs qualified people to stick around, not job shoppers.

Landlords pay bills, too. They need someone who pays on time.

Dancing is part of the fun on a dance night out, not an audition for Twerk Fever.

The American President is a calming influence over a roiling sea of citizens.

They say calming things like, “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.”

Winners don’t vote for fear.

These people know about fear, how to stoke it, and how to calm things down. They’ve been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
