WE THE PEOPLE, NOT PEE-POLE

‘We the People’ are the difference makers others count on.
Maybe not you or me, but the folks out there agitating for change, for better outcomes for themselves and their loved ones.
Loved ones?
You know, the people you think of when you get a warm fuzzy feeling that things are going the right direction for everyone.
It’s a list that ncludes the people you trust.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

 

Some of the trust people.

 

 

This is a graduating class or nurses.
Some of them could go on the earn masters and doctorates.
But, these people face a hurdle built by the department of education.
Department of what?

 

The U.S. Department of Education today announced it has terminated over $600 million in grants to institutions and nonprofits that were using taxpayer funds to train teachers and education agencies on divisive ideologies.

 

We The Pee Pole? 

President LyndonB. Johnson said about his FBI director:

 

It’s probably better to have the son-of-a-bitch inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in.

 

There are variations, like, “Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining.”

 

The Constitutional reigns:

 

Article I
Section 1
All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

 

Article II
Section 1
The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

 

Article III
Section 1
The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.

 

Not The Pee Pole? Congratulations

We the people are baby boomers, millennials, and the later generations to come, who may or may not figure it out on their own.
There’s a learning curve, but it’s not too steep if you read, if know how to read, and do it.
I quoted the Constitution. We can do that in this country. Maybe not yours?
Some people quote it all the time, then interpret it based on an ideology.
Around here we the people stand with other veterans to help kids find their way around sports and friendship and education and show them correct behavior like sportsmanship, kindness, and understanding.
Some kids luck out and grow up with a good group, who all landed on the same teams year after year.
(It helps if you volunteer to coach them, lol.)

 

Now in their mid-thirties, they logged experiences together, then went out in the world.
Back then I told them they were going to be surprised how things happen.

 

Me: Who’s the smartest kid in your class.
Kids: We don’t know.
Me: You will when you’re working for them, so study hard.

 

We The People?

This is picture of American power, raw power, but power controlled by civilian leaders.
They gathered from around the world for a pep talk from their new boss.
Good soldiers and sailors one and all, they were all about correct behavior in public.
I see this as a great image of American might and intelligence.
As they sit, they are the guardians of we the people.
I felt bad for them then, and feel bad for them when I see this shot, because with all of their honors and prestige they were treated like pee poles by the civilian leadership.
Worse than that, the leadership wanted us to know all about it, wanted us to see the show on TV.

 

I’m a former Army Pfc.
I get the shakes just seeing so many officers in one place and wondering who to salute first.
I’ll check in with one of the writers of the constitution and calm down.

 

Thomas Jefferson: Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories.
Me: Mr. President, we are the people, they are the people, and we have a ruler.
TJ: An elected official.
Me: Yes.
TJ: And he shows little regard for my work?
Me: I think he forgets where he is, you know, the we the people part.
TJ: You’re saying it’s more like ‘wee on the people?’
Me: We the Pee Pole.
TJ: That’s not right. Do you still have the Magna Carta?
Me: I do.
TJ: Get it out.
Me: Is that an order.
TJ: It is.
Me: It’s not an illegal order.
TJ: Well . . . Let the reminding begin.

 

 

PS: The Founding Fathers credited the 39th clause as the origin of the idea that no government can unjustly deprive any individual of “life, liberty or property” and that no legal action can be taken against any person without the “lawful judgement of his equals,” what would later become the right to a trial by a jury of one’s peers.

 

PSS: 39. No free man shall be seized or imprisoned, or stripped of his rights or possessions, or outlawed or exiled, or deprived of his standing in any other way, nor will we proceed with force against him, or send others to do so, except by the lawful judgement of his equals or by the law of the land.
40. To no one will we sell, to no one deny or delay right or justice.
