A childhood ending comes in several varieties. The people you meet in early childhood often signal the end later. It might be a parent, a teacher, or the latest bully on the block. All of them are the problem, beginning with parents.

Dreams die, or seem to die, because that’s what dreams do. Does anyone remember the dream they had last night better than the dreams they had as kids? When a dream is memorable as an adult, which way do they go: nightmare, or comfort? I lean toward the anxious side.
