LIFE PURPOSE? ADD EXCITEMENT TO THE DAY

life purpose

‘Life Purpose’ sounds like something said at a funeral.

That’s where the mystery is revealed, like what have you been doing with your life?

“His life purpose was exploring the wilderness.”

Is that you? It’s not me.

Here’s a secret just between us, the blogger and the reader: you don’t have to die to find your life purpose.

Go ahead and make a declaration of your own. I’ll start:

A dedicated music room is a great joy. It’s where you find a soundtrack for living.

About a music room. When I hear someone explain a music room I hear reasons for buying an expensive guitar and not playing it.

Both instances sound like commitment, but sometimes it’s a silent commit.

The guitar stays in the case, the room gathers dust.

See the room in the top pic? That’s a real music room. You can tell because of the drum set-up.

Those drums belong to a professional musician, a touring pro.

When Rusty takes a seat, listens to the rhythms and joins in, he lifts the ceiling, the lump goes out of the rug, and the windows rattle.

Then he changes things to a quieter time and guides the band through the gentle middle eight of the jam then brings it home full blast.

A drummer with touch is a rare find. I’ve found a couple.

Along with guitars, amps, mics, a PA, and cords, drums set the pace and it never stops. I can hear them in the picture.

When the band gets cranking the neighbors call. They ask us to open the windows so they can hear better.

If you find your life purpose is playing music with friends and family, you’re looking in the right places.

But It’s Not The Only Place

This is an old school squat rack and bench.

It’s located above the music room in the garage.

The previous owners used it to become strong in anyone’s book, freakishly strong.

Who doesn’t want to be freakishly strong? How about super strong? Okay, how about stronger than you used to be?

All three await those who make an effort. Want to look better?

Lift.

Want to feel better?

Lift.

Want to talk about lifting?

First, lift.

Finding life purpose is easier when you can move things around in the search.

You’ve seen commercials for exercise equipment, convenient and out of the way when not used.

What they don’t include is will power. Expensive equipment you don’t use is like that money guitar you don’t play. But, it’s still fun to look at.

The rack in this garage is not convenient or out of the way. It says, ‘Here I am, here are you?’

Now you’re thinking, “but Blogger Dave, it looks so lonely.”

It is lonely, and that’s part of the charm. Smart money goes to the person who doesn’t go for Personal Records on the bench here. Failure could be fatal.

Instead, the rack represents progress every day. You don’t have to lift the world all at once, but a little at a time.

Besides, if you ever plan on moving the thing you need to be strong.

Best benefit of this setup? The garage fridge with beer. Lift like a European with a cold one handy.

You can’t do that at 24Hr.

Top Rated Life Purpose?

These are flowers from a recent wedding, a beautiful affair based on all available evidence.

It was where two families met and joined and launched their babies on a journey together.

The married life is the best life, also based on all available evidence.

I’ll fight you on that, and remember I lift. Then I’ll write a song about how brave you were all the way to end of getting your ass kicked.

That’s what makes marriage special for some for some of us: now we have a license to defend and protect . . . our wives or husbands.

And it’s a fight worth fighting.

Who wouldn’t kick ass for their spouse? I know you’d do it for your kids, but until then, it’s the spouse.

The wonderful part of the recent wedding? The bride’s father explained how he raised his two daughters to thrive and grow and not take a backseat to anyone or anything.

The man explained how I’ve felt the last thirty six years of marriage, and I’ve got two adult sons who are husbands ready to pick up the slack.

The big question is ‘Are they up to the task?’

2

Call me overconfident, but yes, they are up to the task.

The beautiful flowers will fade over time and be replaced by more. Keep in mind that the replacements are also commitments to the cause of matrimony.

Add excitement to the day by how you care for others. No one is asking you to take a cue from Mother Theresa and give every ounce of caring to strangers, but why not give to the people closest to you?

Be careful on how you do it. Earlier this year I gave my full and undivided attention to a cause with the idea that it would make a difference in the long run.

To my happy surprise, it worked. But the sort run had a hump to get over.

Is it worth your time and effort to learn new things? To sing a song? To lift weights? To bring family together?

If you’re looking for a life purpose to grab onto, those are three winning strategies for three winning women.
