Gym rat identity is based on an exercise boundary. It’s a balancing act between too little and too much, too often and not enough.

Where you set the exercise boundary is based on what you see in the mirror when you take a good look.

Like what you see? Don’t like what you see? Or, avoid the whole idea of trying to decide what you like and don’t like?

Chances are good that you’re not alone in your reflections. If you’re married, you know the story: Just keep it to yourself.

Critical observations in close quarters? A little fat shaming, lazy blaming, finger pointing?

If you need to air something out, save it for some place with enough room. If it doesn’t go well you’ll end up talking more about why you said what you said, not what you said.

Unless you’re more a jerk than you get credit for it’ll follow this progression: apologize, keep apologizing, then finish up with an apology, you f-ing moron. Work on your attitude.

If you don’t talk it out, you’re an abusive bully, not a good bully. If you criticize and leave, you’re a manipulative, abusive, bully. That’s not optimal behavior for anyone.

Mental Exercise Boundary

Defining an exercise boundary is the mental part, a mental exercise. Like actual weight, a mental boundary is based on what you can take, but instead of a lift, it’s what you can uplift.
