CARE LIMITS: WHEN IS IT TOO MUCH?

Family caregivers have few care limits, for better or worse.

The better part is that they stay on the job.

The worst part: they quit.

Not everyone gets it at first, but it sinks in eventually: Now what?

One of my favorite readers and contributors read my post on Elon Musk, Musk Mandate Rally Call, and left a comment: “A bit too political.”

I hope it wasn’t this:

One thing Trump taught the ‘Curious Class’ is how many people lack curiosity. Why isn’t everyone curious about a smart man declaring himself a smart man while sounding so stupid?

The ‘Aw Shucks Class’ puts it off as Trump being Trump the same way Trump put off his pussy grabbing skills as locker room talk. No big deal in any event? No red flag?

I don’t interpret that as political. It’s more of a jerk being a jerk on the biggest stage, and enjoying himself like we’re all a part of the show. He showed no care limits because, why?

And that’s a problem.

What Is That Show About

On their best days, being a politician is about nurturing the people who voted them into office.

You know if they’re doing it well based on re-election.

That’s how it used to be.

We’re in the days of “Now What?”

The world’s richest man focuses on twitter? Now what?

A Supreme Court justice’s wife is pro-insurrection? Now what?

Roe v Wade is a hot topic? Now what?

Back In The Thirties

I knew a woman who had plenty to say about abortion.

As a young married woman in the 1930’s she looked forward to a thrilling life with the man she loved.

But she was raised differently than he was. She grew up as a girl, he grew up as a boy.

Their cultural differences appeared while she was pregnant.

“Now darling, I understand how women feel when their pregnant. I asked some of the guys in the shop what they did. I think you’ll agree.

“I want you to have a calm pregnancy so I lined up a lady down the street for sex so you don’t have to worry. See, no worries.”

The couple had a baby, but the husband didn’t stop lining up ladies down the street.

“You and I are married. We have a baby. You’ve got plenty to do.”

A year later she got pregnant again. Instead of having another baby with an unreliable man, she got a divorce and an abortion. In 1937. In Texas.

Care Limits For Women

A panicked pregnant teen will seek any remedy that sounds likely.

But they’re a kid, anything is possible.

A pregnant desperate wife with a bad husband will seek any remedy that sounds effective.

And some droop who watched a video will try something unlikely and ineffective.

After a near million people in America died from Covid, and counting; after seeing and hearing the leader of the free world stand in front of the masses and give his ignorant opinion on possible remedies, anything is possible.

Opening the door to morons is never a good idea. Once they get in they run amok. Who’s idea was it to foment insurrection on Jan. 6?

Who Stepped Back And Let It Cook?

Donald Trump is the Kingmaker in the Republican Party. With his blessing you will go places; without his blessing your opponent will go places.

But his blessing carries the stench of being handled by someone with handlers.

Raise a hand if that sounds fishy?

Did Trump fans get a little squirmy when they saw their man humbled in Helsinki?

Putin’s mastery of the issues dominated the news conference, making Trump look weak and clueless by comparison. Trump’s failure to raise publicly any of Putin’s transgressions in Ukraine and Syria and his acceptance of Putin’s denial of election interference all paint a picture of a groveling American leader eager to suck up to rather than stand up to Putin.

How does a bombastic bullshitter capture the imagination of people he calls under-educated to their faces and they still love him?

I don’t know if the rioters actually smeared feces on the wall inside the Capitol, but there were stories.

My question: whose idea was it to fish a German brown out of the toilet in order to express themselves fully?

When I heard about it I thought of Trump’s impression of the White House.

My next thought was his opinion of visiting American graveyards in Europe.

The care limits for Donald Trump and his favorites in the 2022 elections need to be narrowed to a few choice questions with the correct answers:

Who won the 2020 Presidential election?

Who has autonomy over women’s bodies?

Who listens to and believes crap spewing from a known and proven liar’s face?

Good answers and bad allowed. That’s how it is in America.
