MAKE PLANS, DO THE WORK, HOPE FOR THE BEST

Make plans to build momentum.
Put one foot in front of the other and toe the line.
You’re a winner, have been a winner, and will win today.
Then the starting gun fires and you’re off.
Instead of crossing the finish line with hands held high on your way to Olympic gold and a lifetime of notoriety, you take a fall and get carried off by your boyfriend.
It’s stunning to see the image, but not as shocking as watching in real time.
She fell down?

It Happens, Even To The Greatest

In sports we get a winner and a loser, not always who we think.
That’s why they play the games, run the races, slug it out.
Win and celebrate; lose and learn.
My big winners in my sports life have had their day.
Mary Decker was a sure thing. Ali would never lose.
The Dallas Cowboys had seen their day after losing the NFC finals and losing out on winning the first two Super Bowls.
I could live with that.
Then they came back in the 70’s with Roger the Dodger, only to drop in the 80’s.
I was fine with their decline, again, then the 90’s happened.
Three Super Bowls in four years?
Shades of 60′ Celtics and UCLA basketball with John Wooden.
Then nothing, more nothing, and wait until next year nothing.
This year?

PS:

Make plans, but hold on to your money.

PSS:

Know you’ll get tagged, you’ll drop. But know you’ll get back up and continue.
If you know that before you fall, it’s easier to keep going.
