SOUND JUDGEMENT? THE SIGNS

Sound of mind and body is one thing, sound judgement another.
Starting with sound:
Free from error, fallacy, or misapprehension?
We try, but nooooo.
Exhibiting or based on thorough knowledge and experience?
I like this, but nooo.
This is more like it:

And if that’s too much?

We’re talking about noise, melody, music even, something to tap to.
The Loop Station gives a good beat, easy to dance to.
Giving it an 86 on the Dick Clark scale.
It’s the latest addition based on advice from my music director. (Hey T)
The yellow Super Overdrive is for cutting through the rhythm section with searing leads.
The small pedal next to it is a tuner with a cut-off that kills the signal when you stomp it in the middle of jam because you go out of tune.
The eight pedals in the other shot, along with the power source, is a sound engineer’s hot dream of the perfect noise.
All of these things have a timeline that goes back as far as fifth grade in 1967 with Mr. Purcell.
Note to parents: when your kid pushes for a guitar and lessons, don’t rush out for a steel string flat-top. The finger pain has a lower threshold on nylon strings.
1967 to 2026? I’ll do the math. Fifty-nine years with a guitar laying around. Pick it up, put it down; pick it up, put it down.
This doesn’t sound right? That does’t sound right. Then what?
More guitars and more pedals.

Getting Closer To The Right Sound, But There Are Obstacles

In spite of life, of expectations, of responsibilities, that first guitar sticks around, then another.
And another? Go Johnny, go.
FREE BIRD.

Whether you buy a van and throw everything in for a gas station tour, a parking lot concert, or just set it up and dive in at home, remember to practice.
If I Don’t Practice for One Day, I Know It; Two Days, the Critics Know It; Three Days, Everyone Knows It
So make time to practice?

‘Cause I’m as free as a bird nowAnd this bird you cannot changeLord knows I can’t changeLord, help me, I can’t change

PS:

You can change your evil ways with the right guitar. The right dog helps, too.

PSS:

The perfect sound is out there waiting, like a fish in the ocean. You’ll find it with the right bait.
