RISK MAKES THE REWARD ALL THE BETTER

Looking forward to life after BIG LIFE events seems a little hollow. Less attention, more routine, but those damn feelings?

When a normal day asks you to do something with it, what’s the answer? You’re still amped up on the big life event to risk taking on anything with other than full steam ahead.

A man said he had a health scare and it changed his life from high risk behavior. For a while, then he forgot the fear.

What qualifies at BIG LIFE EVENT, the BLE?

The question alone gets into deciding what is more important, this or that. Since I’m here, I’ll decide. Once you’ve finished reading, you can decide.

Start with the idea of ‘this’ or ‘that.’ THIS is right now, the moment, the next breath, the next meal. THAT is yesterday, or tomorrow. THIS is what makes THAT more important, more memorable.

THIS is the key. If you live among like minded people, the sort of people interested in making a place better than it was because of them, you are in good company. Tomorrow has promise for you.

For instance, a man complained about women in a way he expected me to agree with. How could I tell? Man code. He was talking trash, the sort that he needed to stop talking, so I told him in Man Code to up his game, that he couldn’t let anyone bother him enough to drag him down.

He got it and changed, at least to me.

If you find a way to make the day only one percent better than it was yesterday, then you are a true One Percent. How much effort does it take to smile, to hold a door, to pick something up?

Imagine giving one percent of the day to someone, or something, you care about. One percent works out to what from twenty four hours? Start with 1440 minutes. One percent of 1440 minutes is 14.4 minutes, a quarter hour, a coffee break.

Can anyone risk fifteen minutes, give or take for bad math? If the answer is yes, then what? Meditate? Read? Plant a flower? Help a neighbor? Call someone?

What are your ideas for that fifteen minutes? Can you risk it?
