SOCCER, FOOTBALL, AMERICAN WORLD CUP, FINALLY

The American World Cup showed city after city jumping for their teams.
Not so much the American team in the finals and semi-finals, but the good teams.
Why not American soccer? What’s gone wrong to prevent the home team from becoming regulars in the Sweet Sixteen, the Elite Eight, and the Final Four?

THROWBACK BEACH RUN TO SEASIDE

Growing up in a coastal town took the drama out of any beach run.

Going to the beach wasn’t so much a plan as it was a possible destination a half hour away from town.
Then we grew up and things got more complicated.

The ‘history angle’ is not so much a disguise as an omission, of leaving things out.
Traffic on boomerpdx started coming in large numbers from China and Hong Kong, so I thought of ways to include them.
Write historical posts about the events banned in their country and address historical omissions gaining ground in America?

WHY WHY IS THE WRONG WORD

Ask Why Then Brace Yourself For A Hit You Didn’t Want. It’s The Wrong Word. No one asks the guy who accidentally whacks a finger with his hammer why he did it. No one asks the cook why they cut themselves. And no one asks the athlete why they lost. Ask why and you won’t […]
