OVERSTOCK CLEARANCE ON THE WEAPONS AISLE

Overstock clearance is a common marketing ploy.

Who doesn’t like a good deal in life?

Get a deal on car, a guitar, or a weight set and you’re good to go.

Is it the same with ordnance? What do you do if you’re a ruthless dictator with an overstock of missiles aging out on an expiring shelf life?

It’s overstock clearance day.

Load up the gear on mobile launch platforms and find a nation to invade, ideally one close by.

Call it the Putin Plan of rocket and missile disposal.

Every nation sharing a border with Russia is a potential target on overstock clearance day.

Launching missile and rocket attacks, then reloading and doing it again and again, is good business for ordnance producers.

Rocket Men always have a new trick, new fuel, or more lethality.

“My rocket will take out a maternity hospital,” they say.

“I’ll take as many as you’ve got.”

“Well, my new rocket sucks oxygen out of the air and people suffocate. It’s a much cleaner way of death.”

“I’ll take as many as you’ve got.”

“Oh yeah? Well, my new rocket has a dual guidance system. You can set it for one place in case there’s a question of intent, but dial in the real target. For instance, say you want to terror bomb a civilian center. Fix the settings for one place, but put in the dummy target like a military installation nearby. Oops, our bad.”

Overstocked Rockets And Refugees

For all of the accidents and mistakes that occur in the fog of war, what kind of killer enjoys seeing huge numbers of people uprooted and fleeing for their lives?

Since shortly before the Russian invasion in late February, more than 2.5 million refugees have left Ukraine.

Now we know the answer, at least for Russia.

If the question was ever asked, “What happens if we invade Ukraine and blow up as much as we can in an indiscriminate fashion,” now we know the answer.

However, I don’t think refugees were considered any more than just the price of doing business for a dictator.

“Refugees? What refugees. Those aren’t refugees, they are vacationers.”

They are vacationers the same way our Republican co-conspirators describe the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Let’s pray now for the wrongful persecution against the Capitol insurgents among us, and those in custody. We all know they acted in line with normal political discourse while on a regular Capitol tour. And, my dear friends, it is a beautiful Capitol worth saving for Donald Trump. With something extra in the tray, let us bow our heads and pray.”

Heads up: They weren’t tourists on vacation there either.

Super Power Despot Works On Overstock Clearance

Where is Russia’s place on the world stage?

Russia has a seat at the nuclear power table, the great nation table, the super power table, so why revert to Stalingrad siege tactics of guaranteed human suffering on a huge scale?

Dear Russia, you defeated Napoleon and the Nazis. You held Eastern Europe behind an iron curtain after WWII, now your ruler is pulling the curtain on you.

That’s a small notice to Russia from a previous post on BoomerPdx.

Dear America, you saved the world from an evil Axis of bad actors on the world stage including Germany, Japan, and Italy. Instead of abandoning the battlefield like they did in WWI, the Russians stayed in WWII until the end.

And they marked their turf after driving the Germans out of Central Europe with an iron curtain, a wall, and a bullet for anyone trying to get out.

After collaborating with Trump and his minions, Putin saw a clear path to doing it all over again.

Ukraine is not a red state like Florida, Texas, or Alabama, places full of Trump fans who need to show they matter more.

Cheering Trump while he cheers for Putin is no way to show you matter.

Find a better American to follow instead of a serial f#ck-up on a shrinking stage.
