OREGON DAY, JUST ONE OREGON DAY

oregon day

On one Oregon day I saw U.S. Representative Andrea Salinas meet her people at the Tigard Library.

The next day I drove around the countryside looking at what and who is represented.

After joining the crowd in Tigard and listening to how Rep. Salinas spoke to them, I felt certain she had a good handle on her constituents.

This land is her land, this land is your land. Mine, too.

Out on a working farm I saw the goods.

OREGON DAY

Besides produce we found baby ducks, chickens, goats, horses, and geese on the property.

I recommend visiting farms with a two year old to get the full effect.

See things for the first time like they do and you’ll find new feelings.

OREGON DAY

“Is your honey locally sourced?”

“It comes from our bees to the jar with a straining to eliminate dead bees. It couldn’t be more local.”

Moving Along One Oregon Day

From food to feast, to flowers in all of their glory, Oregon is the place.

If you load up the car for a good look around, and if you’re properly motivated, keep moving.

You never know what you may find around the next corner, or in the next county.

OREGON DAY

I was stunned to see acres of flowers in one place.

It was a flower farm, a flower ranch.

For a true Oregon summer plan on a flower trip.

Start with the Rose Garden in Washington Park. Don’t worry, you’ll find a parking spot.

After that go to the tulip fields in Woodburn.

Finish off with Swann Island Dahlias.

All the flowers come on at different times so it’s not a one day trip.

And you’ll find extras along the way.

Portland Is More Than A Beach/Mountain Location

You hear it all the time, read all about it:

“Portland is just an hour from the beach and an hour from the snow.

Historically, people didn’t walk 2000 miles to Oregon from Missouri for the recreational advantages of a central location.

They came to farm the land, not surf and ski.

A Flower / Farm outing shows how it’s going so far.

What else shows how it’s going?

Hearing a concerned and involved elected official give a speech that shows she has a finger on the pulse of her district.

Instead of a screaming nut-case giving a show biz performance, Andrea Salinas showed she is a good steward of the land.

She showed she is a good steward of democracy and the democratic traditions.

Get out of town to see the work.

If you’re looking for an influencer for guidance, start with Rep. Salinas and proceed to the farm.

You’ll be surprised at what you can pick up.
