NORTHWEST TRAIL BLAZERS

Watching this guy play against the Warriors still hurts.

What if he was in Portland? But he’s not and neither is the #1 pick his year.

I won’t even say his name. The initials work fine. Just GO.

Kevin Durant makes his case as a #1 pick in every game, though watching him shake and bake looks like a skeleton in a strong wind.

What other near-7 footer has his handles, his shot, and his confidence.

Not Dirk, even with a title.

Anyone?

Durant will get his title, but probably not this year, and probably not with his team.

Doesn’t he look good in green?

Maybe the Blazers can help him out. Bring him here as a free agent, and instead of a throwback jersey night, do something different.

So many teams have a regional appeal way beyond their city name. Portland could do the same.

Go regional with the Northwest Trail Blazers in a Seattle themed jersey and watch the Emerald City go crazy.

King County would try and crown Portland the way Moe used to crown Curly.

Maybe they’d send the Seahawk secondary down for a hit? Or make it easy and schedule a game in Seattle.

Northwest Trail Blazers in the Key Arena.

Isn’t that how OKC got a team? New Orleans played there during Katrina and filled the place up to make stealing the Sonics feasible to the NBA money guys.

If Seattle ever gets a team back, it can’t be through relocation, or robbing the Starbucks boss. He’s smarter after the last time, plus he doesn’t have a team anymore.

Without Durant, Seattle would still hate to see the Northwest Trail Blazers, even for one night.

No one likes a hot latte in the eye, let alone spit, and that’s how they’d take it, a spit in the eye.

Does Portland envy Seattle their Mariners? Their Seahawks?

Putting more professional athletes into a small market might jam too many people up. And Portland gets plenty of press for it’s size.

We know size matters in sports, from athletes to population, but how about balls?

A basketball is the biggest ball in sports, and Portland’s got theirs.

Who’s the envy now?
