LEAVING PLACES BETTER THAN YOU FOUND THEM IS NOT ASKING TOO MUCH

Experienced campers know all about leaving places better than they found them. Pick up the trash, pack your gear, and move along.

It’s that easy, and that hard with campers. After the camping trip is done and they get home, the clean up continues for the next time.

Will Mr. Trump be a good camper? Does he know the rule about leaving places the right way? Has he ever camped in his life?

This is the man who christened the People’s House, The White House, a big dump when he moved in, bringing in a new strain of classlessness to the capital.

Now he doesn’t want to talk about leaving. Instead, he talks about staying longer than the law allows such things.

He speaks to his base, they spoon it up, and suddenly the White House is too lovely to leave.

Trump has lived most of these first months alone in his upstairs palace, inhabiting 20,000 square feet of the residence by himself most weeknights, catered to by a household staff that totals nearly 100, including a couple of valets and a handful of butlers.

There’s the remodeled Rose Garden envisioned by Mrs. Trump, along with her impactful Christmas decorating.

There’s the son in law explaining to America how collecting and distributing PPE for coronavirus works for him.

There’s the daughter showing all young mothers how to balance work and life for the best outcome.

The best outcome comes from voting.

Vote Joe Biden. Build something useful.
