GOLDEN RULE REMINDER WITH A NEW SHINE

The Golden Rule applies to one and all, even the new people with no skin in the game.
A new iteration came across my screen with, ‘You may have the right to do something, but is it the right thing to do?’
Treating others with fairness and dignity according to the law of the land is one thing; doing it because that’s how you feel?
That’s the best thing.

This version as it’s related to twitter seems far fetched with people feeling like they need to unload on others as they see fit.
Not everyone sees the same thing.
Twitter invites you to ‘See What’s Happening.’
If you need twitter to see what’s happening, go ahead and broaden your scope.
What’s happening on your block? In your house? Start there.
Maybe have a word with the neighbors to see how everything’s going with them.

Be the good neighbor, even when you get shunned for not doing what they ask.
If they give you their back, that’s on them.
Be the same person you’ve always been. No one needs more confusion.

One neighbor came over to ask me about my rainbow flag.
He knew all about the rainbow flag, I could tell by his questions.
Did I explain the meaning? Nooo.
Did I tell him to mind his own business? Nooo.
Like a good husband I said my wife likes the rainbow flag, so I like the rainbow flag.
I kept it simple.
Was he secretly gay?
It never crossed my mind, and if it did, I tossed it since we were talking about a flag, not date night.
He asked a question he knew the answer to, and I played along.
Ask me a stupid question and I’ll give you a stupid answer.
If that’s the golden rule, it needs a little polishing up, but the essence is there.

PS: Not everyone understands the gold rule as it applies to them. They think it’s a one way street kind of thing.

PSS: When you turn onto a street and all you see are headlights coming at you, pull over and turn around.
