FAILING FUN = TRY AGAIN

No one sets a course for failing fun.
But who’s kidding who.
Those who never fail haven’t tried hard enough.
But if you keep track of such things, failing fun happens every day.
Is it really fun, though?
Were the garage inventors having fun while they figured out the software and hardware needed to navigate the modern world?
Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are the big names. Steve Wozniak and Paul Allen were in there with them.
They didn’t start out on top of the world; they got there by not quitting when faced with adversity.
Imagine the feeling of being right about so many things when the odds were against them ever getting out of the garage.
All four of them found success on a scale never seen before.
How do computer guys end up the richest men in the world? By inventing windows and Microsoft, Apple and MacBook.
Well don’t look for anything like that from boomerpdx.
I’m busy inventing a way to avoid the plague of ‘there’s nothing left to do’ that consumes baby boomers, and making a case for millennials to avoid the same thing.

Writer Work Failure

health writing

Writer work allows people, me, to ask questions and find answers.
Problems appear for know-it-alls who want you to know they know.
From there you’re on your own. You can accept things at face value, of argue over every point trying to be made.
My advice: stick with what you know and look things up later.
Then write it down, read it, correct it, and post it on your blog.
If you get three readers don’t feel hurt. That’s one more than I got on a recent ‘fail post.’
My takeaway: people are funny like that and you never know what might interest them.
Writers hope their style, their vocabulary, their knowledge, is enough.
So, is it enough? You find out by writing and posting and repeating the process until you refine things.

You Don’t Know What You’ve Got ‘Til It’s Gone

You’ll know when failing fun has lost its luster when fun turns to bitterness and anger with no direction.
Walk around under that cloud long enough and someone mighty ask what’ up.
So you tell them.
Don’t do that unless it’s someone with proven listening skills, otherwise you’ll get the sort of feedback you hear in hospice care, like you’re dying.
You’re not dying, at least not dying anymore than the rest of us.
If you’ve read boomerpdx you know the drill. Keep your head up and move forward with balance and confidence.
Things happen, good thing happen, to other people, why not you? Why not me?
Why not the bitter complainer looking for someone to blame?

PS:

The last guy in line, the bitter complainer, already has their solution.
They listen to a man explaining how nothing is their fault, so why take blame when you can shed it off and forget about it.

PSS:

Because that’s not how things work for normal people.
We don’t have an empire to enrich and protect, sordid secrets locked away, and we don’t associate with nefarious characters on the world stage, or any stage.
My latest effort to improve my standing in life: After too long I’ve moved my trash cans out of public view in compliance with the HOA.
Can I get a star sticker? Maybe a bag of nuts?
