DOWNER BEACH PLASTIC FOR BEACH TOWN

Downer Beach shouldn’t be pretty.

Neither should the beach town next to it.

Whose problem is the plastic on a downer beach near a nice little tourist town?

Whose problem?

I’m asking, “Whose problem,” because it ended up being mine when a guy from a beach front resort carried a bucket and a pair of long pincers and picked shit up.

Some ‘thank you for your service’ guy walked passed and said, “Thank you for picking up plastic.”

My new buddy said to me, “If he was sincere he’d stop and pick some up.”

Aaaand that’s how I ended up policing up a part of the beach and dumping debris in his bucket.

His big complaint? He pointed out wadding from shotgun shells that washes up.

That’s it in the last shot, the plastic tube in the center.

Did I do the right thing by picking up? Or was I just show-boating?
