BLAZERS MAKE A PORTLAND BOO BOO ON YOGI FERRELL

It ain’t over ’til it’s over for the Blazers? Yogi says it’s over.

How does a six foot tall player on a ten day contract light up the Blazers for thirty two?

The numbers add up to Yogi Ferrell.

No longer a cup of coffee player with a quick look at the big leagues, now he’s got a two year NBA contract with the Dallas Mavericks.

Should he send the Blazers a thank you card? How would that read?

Dear Damian,

Thank you for the opportunity to stick in the NBA. Your defense was much appreciated.

Hope you get better,

Love, Yogi

Watching the Blazers and Mavs last night must have been great for Dallas fans.

It looked like another version of Lin-sanity when an undrafted Jeremy Lin of the Knicks torched the NBA point guards and made a name for sticking in the league.

When an underdog rolls up on established players making a ton of money you have to cheer.

Unless they do it against your team. Like Yogi Ferrell did the Blazers; like he did Damian.

With a win it’s all fun and games. A loss opens up floodgates of ill will.

Is Yogi that good, or are the Blazers that bad?

More numbers to add to Yogi’s thirty two point explosion: Lillard’s 13, CJ’s 28, and a barking, slashing, manned-up 27 from former Blazer Wesley Matthews.

In the classic ‘love the guy’s effort when he played here, hate his effort for another team’ leaving Moda Center with a win, Matthews wrapped the game in his glorious 3-D.

He was really the Blazers leading three point shooter before Lillard?

In a funky haircut, weird sideburns, and a devilish expression that screamed, “IN YOUR FACE PORTLAND,” undrafted Matthews shined like a first rounder.

Is he still a tough guy?

Dive on the floor for a loose ball and see how you feel. So far so good?

Now dive on the floor and wait for Mason Plumlee to dive on your back.

All Matthews did was jump up and go. You and me? We’d still be on the floor this morning.

As great as it is seeing undrafted players reach their potential, except against the Blazers, it’s even better to see them rewarded.

With the second highest payroll in the NBA, Portland players know the feeling.

By the end of the game how many sports fans thought Matthews deserved the same rewards when he was in RipCity?
