Baby Bison Red Dog Travelogue From Yellowstone To Oregon

She saw me in the bookstore outside the Norris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone.

She wanted something to remind her of the visit.

I’m glad there wasn’t a moose in the house. She really wanted to see a moose and I’d still be in the park.

The first night was good. I planned our trip. She had the map, but I had the eyes.

There was a guy, too. Long white hair, black framed glasses, doing something in the car with a steering wheel.

I think he called it driving. He was the driver. The two people could have been bumble bees the way they sweetened up calling each other honey.

We’ll be headed out thataway, folks.

If you follow anyone out west, make it count. Lewis and Clark? None better.

They knew the way to Oregon and the way back. It didn’t work out so well for my group in the early days. Click the link to see a mountain of skulls.

It was bad times for us bison. There’s still work to do.

My new people didn’t read the signs. Pets Prohibited? What’s that mean?

No Porta-potty? Porta what? I hope they know what’s going on.

After getting all dusty from an old road, they washed their car. Instead of waiting until they got home, they washed it with a three day drive ahead.

The man complained, but took it through the car wash machine. He pointed out the futility of washing dirt off when more dirt would replace it, then paid the man with the hose.

His honey was so impressed she wanted to give him more money. The man asked what I’d do.

I like him. I said strap me on the hood and let’s hit the road. So we did.

Does Oregon have a red dog bison?

They do now.

You can take the bison out of Yellowstone, but never try and take Yellowstone out of the bison.

Yellowstone Forever.
